Shamanism is really a state of mind, its a way of viewing Life as a whole.
People often ask about my `work` as a Shaman / Medicine Woman (as so often the two meanings have become blurred and confused), I try my best to explain about my daily Rituals & Respects as well as my Healing or Teaching duties, but most of all I try to impart that `being a Shaman` is not a job or Career, Its a Life Calling. `Being a Shaman` is `who` I am at a Soul level.....it is my essence
I could go in depth here about Our Ancestors and the many varieties of Tribal Life Shamanism, but I wont, you can easily look that up on the internet or in books or even find many a modern day Guru if you wish!
All I can say to those that have felt the Shamans calling is I can be a Guide upon your Pathway...I will show you the Doorways...it is for you to walk through them!
If you wish to truly Learn, I have been Guided to start working with Apprentices.
This will not be for Everyone
Only those who deeply wish to walk the Pathways with a view to becoming Keepers of the Knowledge (& hopefully Teachers?) will seek me & the Ancestors out for this calling & Training
The Apprenticeship Training is very in depth and will vary from student to student. Some may be ready within a matter of months, with others Training can go on for a few years. Remember however long completion of the Apprenticeship may take you will be required to set aside at least a minimum of 2 whole days/nights every month. If you can not commit to this small request than you can not commit to the responsibility of Knowledge Keeper
Also remember there are many types of Shaman with many types of Pathways
You can not pick & choose where your Power lies, Our Ancestors may wish that you follow you true path of Plant Shaman, or Elemental Shaman or you may be called upon to act as Bridge to the Animal Kingdom or a combination of many? Please do be flexible in your thinking here, no Shaman Pathway is Greater than another, we are not in competition......we are all related! Mitakuye Oyasin

PRE-REQUISITES
You must have felt the Shaman Path Calling (visions, an inner knowing/Guidance)
You must be 18 or over
You can be up to any age
Male or Female, but Teaching & Knowledge will relate to gender (ie men do not take place in Womens Ceremonies etc!)
Be willing to commit not only time to learning/studying but also to others! (Voluntary work but more so Earth Energy Healing Days & Animal Healing)
No previous Knowledge required, no psychic development or holistic training of any kind needed
An open kind & Generous Heart, a capable open & imaginative mind and an interest in the World around them would be a good place to start
A sense of Humour is a MUST!
Along with not worrying about getting muddy, cold, soaked with the ocassional odd looks from the locals
